Luc Doyon was born in Toronto, Ontario. In 1982 he graduated from "École Polytechnique de Montréal" with a degree in mechanical engineering. The following year he obtained a graduate degree in welding engineering from the École Supérieure de Soudage et des Applications (ESSA) in Paris, France.


Mr. Doyon joined the Air Liquide Group in 1983. He began his career at Air Liquide Canada where, from 1983 to 1991, he held the positions of Project Engineer, Sales Engineer, and Manager, Regional Sales.

From 1992 to 1998, Mr. Doyon worked in the United States, at Air Liquide America Corporation, where he held the positions of Marketing Manager, Regional Manager, and, finally, Regional Vice-President.

Mr. Doyon returned to Canada in 1999 where he held the position of  Vice-President, Metal Fabrication Group. He was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Air Liquide Canada on April 1, 2003.  In 2008, Mr. Doyon added the title of CEO to his existing executive responsibilities.
