Carbon dioxide

Carbon dioxide is an essential gas for life. It functions as a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) maintaining livable conditions on Earth. Carbon dioxide is colourless, normally inert and nontoxic gas. At room temperature this gas has little to no odour and about 1.5x as heavy as air. It freezes at -78.5 °C to form carbon dioxide snow, used in fire extinguishers.
